COVID-19 Update

COVID-19 Update

I would like to give an update on the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and the impact on the Good Hope Baptist Church.

This week the CDC gave recommendations concerning mask wearing for those who are vaccinated and how we can gather together indoors and outdoors. They have suggested that those who are vaccinated do not have to social distance or wear mask indoors and outdoors.

At this time, we will still require masks while in the church and in worship. We will continue to monitor the situation for the safety of our members and those who are worshipping in person. We will continue to give updates as we move toward gathering. We do encourage every member to get vaccinated. If you need a ride or you need information, please contact Deacon Sam Gibson.

Each Sunday – we will allow members to assemble in the sanctuary for Sunday School and Morning Worship.

Please be aware that each week we sanitize the doors, pews, restrooms and other areas of the church. This is done to ensure a clean sanitized building for those who come.

There are requirements to participating in the worship service:

  • We will require every person attending to have a COVID form filled out prior to entering in the sanctuary.
  • You must not feel sick or have a temperature. We will take temperatures at the door. If you have any symptoms of cough, fever, body aches or shortness of breath, we will ask you to leave and to go seek medical attention.
  • You will be asked to sit with distancing. We will continue to practice social distancing with space between members. If you stay in the same household, you can sit together.
  • Masks are REQUIRED. If you do not have a mask, we have some extra mask that will be available. You will be asked to make that known when you register.
  • We are asking our older members to stay home. Our older members who are most vulnerable to attracting COVID -19 are encouraged to stay home and stay safe. If you are comfortable with coming you can come as well. WE DO NOT WANT ANYONE to feel like they are required or pressured to come to worship. We will still do online Live Stream as we have done in the past.
  • We will ask each person to sanitize their hands prior to entering the building.  We will have volunteers stationed outside and inside the church to assist with these requirements and seating. Also, when using the restrooms, we are asking for you to thoroughly wash your hands and utilize the sanitary wipes available.
  • When exiting the building we are asking that you continue to practice social distancing until you reach outside the building.

We are excited to get back to worship but we are also still encouraging our members and community to stay safe. Please do what is best for you and your family.

Thank You.
