Stewardship Campaign – “My Faith By Faith”
In 1874, Rev. Jacob Fontaine and the founding members of the Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church embarked on a journey and a vision from God. By faith the members and pastor of the church set out to do only what God could do and that is to establish the first African-American church in the city of Round Rock, TX. 138 years later and still operating, “by faith”, the members of the Good Hope Baptist Church are still standing strong, carrying out the vision from God to His people. For over 138 years we have experienced and witnessed lives that have been changed by the saving power of Jesus. By the grace of God, the congregation has increased numerically and spiritually and our faith in Jesus
Christ and our belief in His word continue to strengthen us as we carry out His will.

God has given us the vision to reach out and continue to make an impact on this community, city and surrounding areas. Our congregation serves not only the Round Rock area but all the surrounding areas. While we have experienced what God has done in the past, we also know that God is calling us to a greater work. We as a people of God must look toward the future and leave a legacy that our children and their children can build on for their future. In response to this opportunity, the church has decided to look at options of expansion for this ministry work.
In order to carry out and fulfill the vision God has placed before us, we are launching our stewardship campaign. The priority of this campaign is to raise funds for the modification of our existing property for building purposes or to purchase new property in the surrounding area of Round Rock. This campaign is not just a fundraiser but it is a sacrificial giving for the work of the Lord. In 1 Chronicles chapters 28 and 29, David instructed the people that the Lord was going to use his son Solomon to build the temple. The text said that ALL the people gave. It was not a command for just a few but each and every person gave out of what they had and they did it with a willing heart.
“Then the people rejoiced, for that they offered willingly, because with perfect heart they offered willingly to the LORD: and David the king also rejoiced with great joy.” 1 Chronicles 29:9
As we embark on this stewardship campaign please understand that this is a “sacrificial” giving. God instructs us in this word (Malachi 3:10-12) to bring our tithes to the church. This stewardship campaign is not transference of your gifts but an extension to your gifts in addition to your obedience of the giving of your tithes.
Our goal is to raise $500,000 at the end of 3 years. I am a strong believer that WE can achieve this goal at the end of 3 years if not sooner. The funds for this campaign will allow us to prepare the selected property for placement of the new edifice. This new edifice will grant us an increase in worship space, classrooms, fellowship space and offices.
I don’t believe our church has ever embarked on a project of this magnitude before. I encourage you to know that we can achieve this because we serve a God who can and will provide for His own. God has performed major miracles before and because He said it…I believe it. God is asking us to look beyond our own strength and resources and to look unto Him. If we look at what we can do we will fear the challenge and fail in our own abilities, but if we look at what GOD can do we know that all things are possible. As I close this letter, know that this work is not for man but for the Lord. (1 Chronicles 29:1)
